Verizon FiOS TV to Launch in Stow, Massachusetts

Verizon announced that the Board of Selectmen in Stow, Massachusetts has granted the company a cable franchise which will allow Verizon to offer FiOS TV service to Stow residents. The board vote brings to 75 the total number of communities in Massachusetts where Verizon's FiOS TV is currently offered or will be available in the near future.

Donna Cupelo, Verizon region president for Massachusetts and Rhode Island said, "We are thrilled to be able to bring FiOS TV to residents in Stow. Since the launch of FiOS TV in Massachusetts last year, we are continuing our efforts to meet the consumer demand for cable TV choice."

Verizon FiOS TV Now Available in 72 Massachusetts Communities

Verizon currently offers FiOS TV - its new fiber-optic television service - in 72 Massachusetts communities as well as other locations in New York, New Jersey, California, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia. The company is currently in negotiations with several other communities in Massachusetts to obtain additional franchises.

The Stow franchise agreement contains provisions for the network's future growth; financial support and capacity for educational and government access channels; cable service to government buildings; and other important benefits to the town, including insurance, indemnification and enforcement protections.

Verizon FiOS TV Offers High-Speed Internet Download Speeds up to 50 Mbps

Verizon offers a fiber-to-the premises (FTTP) network, connecting homes and businesses directly to fiber optics on a widespread scale. In addition to FiOS TV, Verizon's fiber network allows consumers and businesses access to high-speed FiOS Internet service with download speeds up to 50 Mbps (megabits per second) and upload speeds up to 20 Mbps. FiOS TV features a broad collection of all-digital programming, high-definition channels, video-on-demand, and more.
