Comcast Digital Voice Adds New International Calling Plans

Comcast has announced the launch of Comcast Carefree Minutes International - four international calling plans available to Comcast Digital Voice customers which will provide flat rates for calls to more 30 countries all over the world.

Cathy Avgiris, senior vice president and general manager of Comcast Voice Services, said, "We want to make it easy for our customers to stay in touch with their family and friends, even if they live on the other side of the world, and our new international calling plans are another way we provide that capability."

Comcast Carefree Minutes International World Wide Coverage

With Carefree Minutes International calling plans, Comcast Digital Voice customers will be able to call landline phones in western Europe in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. In Asia, they will be able to make calls to China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan. Latin American countries on the plan include Brazil, Columbia, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Argentina, Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, and Nicaragua.

Comcast Digital Voice and Carefree Minutes International Features

In addition to international calling plans, Comcast Digital Voice customers will have access to a variety of other features which are expected to become available this year and will be integrated with the company's video and high-speed Internet services including:

* Universal Caller ID - customers can view caller information on their phone, TV and PC
* SmartZone Communications Center - a central online location where Comcast customers can use "viewable voicemail" to listen to calls or forward them like e-mail, send and receive e-mail and, in the future, remotely program their DVRs
* Enhanced Cordless Telephone - will enable home phone users to check e-mail and voicemail, send instant messages and access a "universal" personal address book as well as a yellow pages directory
